Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau Anaesthetic Technicians Education Team are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled person to join their team and department.
Our Education Team will be dedicated to equipping and empowering our workforce to deliver the highest quality patient and whaanau care. The Education team has a primary responsibility to provide expertise and support in facilitating anaesthetic technician and perioperative nursing education, clinical skills acquisition, student assessments and delivery of professional development activities for multidisciplinary perioperative teams.
We have an exciting opportunity for an influential and creative individual to join us. The successful applicant will have a special interest and expertise in the area of education.
Essential requirements of the role are:
Registration with the Medical Sciences Council and current APC
At least 3 years’ experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Passion for people and development
A willingness to embrace changing education models and work with other disciplines to ensure future sustainability

About the role
Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is formally known as Northland DHB.
Achieving the best health outcomes for our patients starts with expecting the best from ourselves, and right now Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is looking for Anaesthetic Technicians.
If you choose Whangarei as your base location, you also have the option of working in Kaitaia for a few days so that you can spend some time in the Far North to explore the beautiful surroundings.
The purpose of this position is to provide safe operational anaesthetic and ancillary equipment to anaesthetists in operating theatre. In this role you will provide direct clinical assistant to anaesthetists and intensivists maintaining a high standard of patient care.
You will be a part of an integrated operating theatre team with a commitment to ensuring efficient functioning of the operating theatre.
These are permanent full-time opportunities however, we also welcome applicants who prefer to work part time.

We are a friendly and supportive team focusing on providing a caring and professional environment, delivering quality care and extended nursing practice.
Surgical specialties covered include: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Acute/Trauma, Paediatrics, Plastics and Vascular.
We are looking for a NZ Registered Anaesthetic Technician or Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant (RNAA) to join our theatre team. This is a permanent, full-time role working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE). Shifts are flexible – rostered and rotating Monday to Sunday, including evenings, weekends and on-call.

To be considered for this position you must be a Registered Anaesthetic Technician or a RNAA, with a current APC issued by The Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ), or be eligible for the same.

- has the ability to cope with a high and varied workload, including emergency situations
- has excellent organisational and time management skills
- has recent clinical experience with strong observational and crisis management skills
- has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.

The salary for this role is $59,035 to $83,030 (steps 1 – 7) per annum pro rata, of the current PSA Allied Public Health and Technical MECA, dependent on skills, experience & registration in NZ.
