Requirements to Work as an Anaesthetic Technician in New ZealandAs of the 1st April 2012 you must be registered with and have an annual practising certificate (APC) issued by The Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ) to be able to practise as an Anaesthetic Technician in New Zealand. Because of this the NZATS stopped taking overseas registrations as of 31st May 2011. FeesNZ $100:00 (One Hundred Dollars) for all Trained Anaesthetic Technicians. Copies of DocumentsCertified Photo-copies of your documents, qualifications will be accepted only. This can be obtained from a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or a Lawyer, and they need to have an official seal or stamp. Registrations - FOR NEW ZEALAND APPLICANTS ONLYCertified copies of all your documentation signed by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or Lawyer with official stamp or seal. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) Attach the appropriate evidence of Qualifications and Work History . Enclose Registration number and Practicing Certificate (ie from Nurses council if appropriate) along with the Qualification. Minimum requirement for registration is 8 hours per week hours averaged over 1 year. A Registration form can be downloaded by in our Document section under the "NZATS" section. Please note that you MUST qualify as a New Zealand applicant for these forms. Overseas applicants using these forms will not be accepted under any circumstance. Return to Work
Overseas AbsenseAny member intending on travelling overseas for more than 12 months should notify the secretary in writing. A lesser fee of $20.00 per annum shall apply to maintain their name on the register. If they return to work in N.Z. as a technician before the 12 month period, the balance of the fee shall be paid and the APC will be issued. Associate MembershipAn Associate member is a person, not eligible for full membership, who expresses an interest in the Association and wishes to receive the journal and other Association literature. Associate members are entitled to take part in Association meetings but have no voting rights. Associate membership does not imply that an individual is qualified or competent to practice as an Anaesthetic technician. Subscriptions Payment Options - New ZealandWays to pay for your annual subscriptions. Direct bank credit (Internet Banking) Quote your name and the word Reg Fees and your Registration number. Once you have completed your payment ,print off a copy of your verification of payment and send it with your registration form.
Your card will not be dispatched until payment has been made and a completed Registration form has been submitted. Subscriptions Payment Options - Overseas Electronic/Telegraphic Money TransferFor those wishing to pay processing or registration fees from overseas the NZATS bank details are as follows: WESTPAC SWIFT CODE: WPACNZ2W Please make sure that all transfers have your name and your APO or Registration number or we will not know whom the money is from. If making electronic payments, the banks do take a percentage for the transaction, if NZATS DO NOT receive the full amount of $400 for processing or $100 for registration, your application WILL NOT be completed.
