Together, we have compiled a suitable application pack for Overseas Registrations and meet bi-monthly to discuss all applications for Registration and all return to work Technicians that have been away from our profession for more than 18 months. The Record of Membership of Qualified and Trainee Technicians is currently being updated as this years' applications are being processed. NZATS Inc requires the minimum of 8 hours per week in clinical Anaesthetic Assistance to maintain Registration with us. If you have been away from practice for 18 months or more, you are required to completed a Return to Practice Orientation/Assessment. Please contact the Registrar for details. FeesNZ $100:00 (One Hundred Dollars) for all Trained Anaesthetic Technicians. Copies of DocumentsCertified Photo-copies of your documents, qualifications will be accepted only. This can be obtained from a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or a Lawyer, and they need to have an official seal or stamp. Registrations - FOR NEW ZEALAND APPLICANTS ONLYCertified copies of all your documentation signed by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or Lawyer with official stamp or seal. Enclose Registration number and Practicing Certificate (ie from Nurses council if appropriate) along with the Qualification. Overseas AbsenseAny member intending on travelling overseas for more than 12 months should notify the secretary in writing. A lesser fee of $20.00 per annum shall apply to maintain their name on the register. If they return to work in N.Z. as a technician before the 12 month period, the balance of the fee shall be paid and the APC will be issued. Processing FeeA Processing fee for non-resident, overseas applications, or those not previously Registered in New Zealand is NZ $400:00 (Four Hundred Dollars) which is non-refundable, and has a year's life to complete Registration. If the applicant change their mind about registering with NZATS once the processing fee has been banked by NZATS this is non-refundable. ODPs and ODAs
You are required to have the minimum of 2 years experience in Anaesthesia, post Qualification (A referee to verify this, and we need to be able to contact this person). If less than 2 years experience then the applicant may be eligible for Provisional Regsitration. This will allow you to be employed by an NZATS certified training hospital only and the applicant will need to sit the NZATS Registration Exam within a year of Provisional Registration or working in New Zealand. This will give the applicant 2 opportunities of sitting the Registration Exam. Other Anaesthetic TechniciansYou will need to send your Qualifications to our New Zealand Qualifications Authority. You will need to have completed the minimum of two years Anaesthetic experience post Qualification, and we require a letter from your Clinical Director of Anaesthesia to confirm this, and we must be able to contact this person. Associate members are entitled to take part in Association meetings but have no voting rights. Associate membership does not imply that an individual is qualified or competent to practice as an Anaesthetic technician.
